How reports are handled
In simple terms
Reports enter a private queue. They are triaged by severity — not by popularity or pile-on volume.
Members may report content, profiles, or messages that may violate Community Standards. Reports generate moderation cases with structured categories. Triage considers severity, credibility, evidence, and policy area. Report count alone is never sufficient for significant enforcement.
Review workflow
In simple terms
Trained reviewers examine evidence against published policies before acting.
Cases progress through defined states: submitted, triaged, assigned, under review, decided, and (if applicable) appealed. Reviewers document policy citations, factual findings, and proportionate outcomes. Complex cases may be escalated to senior trust & safety staff.
Enforcement levels
In simple terms
We start with the least restrictive action that resolves the issue.
Graduated enforcement may include: no violation found; educational notice; content removal; feature restriction; temporary suspension; permanent suspension; and account termination. Verification status may be revoked separately under the Verification Policy. Each level requires appropriate review authority.
Review timelines
In simple terms
We aim to review cases promptly. Urgent safety cases are prioritized.
Target review timelines will be published as operations mature. Urgent safety matters are prioritized. Members can view private standing status during open cases. We do not guarantee fixed timelines for every category but commit to good-faith diligence.
Appeal process
In simple terms
Submit an appeal from Account Standing. A different reviewer evaluates it.
Eligible decisions may be appealed within the window stated on the Account Standing page. Appeals must include member explanation and any relevant context. Appeals are reviewed by qualified staff; original reviewers do not have sole veto over appeal outcomes where practicable. Appeal outcomes: uphold, modify, or reverse.
Transparency principles
In simple terms
We publish how enforcement works. We do not publish private details about other users.
Schaire publishes policies governing enforcement and periodically reports aggregate trust & safety metrics where appropriate. We do not publicly disclose reporter identity, private case details, or another member's standing.
